Hi Y'all
First to get it out of the way, Houston is hella hot right now. I had heat exhaustion at an event I was helping out with yesterday. Sometimes I forget I am disabled and have limitations. My body has trouble now controlling it's temperature. Usually I do good if I sweat. For some reason I did not sweat and and my blood pressure tanked. I felt better after getting out of the heat and using ice packs. That Tx heat is no joke!
So to continue my book's journey, I suggest having a budget for advertising. However, make sure the person or company you use to promote is legit. I have to do my own marketing and publishing as I am without a budget. Also, it is hard for me to travel and I lack regular hours since I am disabled. I do what I can though.
I found a local bookstore that is having an event. So, I am going to do some networking. It is close to my house and at night so I lucked out. As a few hours would be my limit. Also, it is local and small so I can actually speak with a person face to face.
I saw an add for a huge conference. There are like 200 author exhibits. I thought if there are so many how could anyone stand out? Also, all the book lovers seem to be participating so who is there to actually review or buy the books?
